Home renovations are always exceptionally rewarding work, especially when we see the joy that refurbishment can bring. They are also challenging jobs, as often our clients are living in the home as the work is being carried out. That’s why careful and sympathetic planning is so important. Example Renovation Project
Landscaping gave the team yet another opportunity to showcase their stonework skills. The work included wood panelling, solid-wood floors and a stunning new kitchen.
One of the bonuses was the discovery of a spectacular, floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace that had been completely hidden. The lads lovingly restored the stonework, and the fireplace is now one of the standout features of this beautiful home.
The Project
River House in Barnard Castle was not only a full-house refurbishment, it included a large loft conversion, sizeable extension, timber-built annex and extensive landscaping, all within a conservation area.
The loft and extension included substantial steelwork, and we also introduced a number of specialist contractors, all of whom we managed on behalf of the clients.
The extension, which maximises the fabulous views of the River Tees, uses stone and woodwork that blend in beautifully with the 120-year-old Edwardian home.
